I'm delighted to share some news. Galaxy Beads is heading to the 2026 Perth Gem & Mineral Show, and you'll find us at stand H9.

The official event guide lists the stand as "Galaxy Beads / Unique Gems". That name is on purpose, and I'll explain why further down.

Why the stand says Galaxy Beads / Unique Gems

Galaxy Beads is my boutique selection of natural gemstone beads for jewellers and makers. I only stock beads I love to design with, and that hasn't changed.

Unique Gems is the connected project I've been working towards, and it's focused on cut gemstones. A dedicated Unique Gems website is being developed. It isn't live yet, so there's no web address to share today. What I can do is bring the name to a room full of people who care about the earth's extraordinary beauty as much as I do, and that's what this show is.

Unique Gems is coming. H9 is a chance for you to hear about it from me, in person, and tell me what you'd love to see.

Why this show matters to me

A gem and mineral show is one of the few places where you can stand next to a mineral specimen, a polished slab, a strand of beads and a faceted stone, all within a few steps of each other. You see how the same material behaves in different forms. You pick things up. You ask questions of people who know their subject.

It's exactly why I love shows like this. The colour is gorgeous in a photo, but it's something else in your hand with daylight on it.

Come and say hello

I'd love to meet you at H9, whether you're a jeweller with a project in mind, a collector who loves a good conversation about stones, or someone who just wandered in to see what a gem show is like. Bring your questions. Bring a photo of the piece you're designing if you like. I'm always curious about what people are making.

A couple of practical tips for finding us:

Check the show's official map and vendor directory before you arrive and look for H9.
The 2026 event guide has a floor plan and directory, and lists us as Galaxy Beads / Unique Gems.
The show organisers note that many vendors don't take cards and there are no ATMs inside the convention centre, so plan for cash.
